Who's buying COD DLC for PC???

Fixed. ;)

Why does this even need its own thread!? Whats wrong with the MW3 thread? Its not like it busy as it is! :p

That's what I was referring to V_R. I played Promod and PAM in various leagues. It was the best time of my gaming life, sadly it's gone.

Recently joined a competitive team week back, got kicked yesterday for using an M16 and arguing with the CoD4 Division Leader on whether its a good gun or not. XD

Your logic is flawed. Just because something sells well doesn't mean it's any good, just means humans are stupid. I suppose you bought the Twilight books and went to see all of the movies at the cinema? :D

Hang on a minute.

I never said I'd bought it.

I was asking a question.

At the time of starting the thread MW3 DLC was the top seller on Steam. I found that rather surprising for a number of reasons.

1) Mention any COD game after COD4 and most PC gamers turn their nose up.

2) There were 2 very good FULL games available on Steam at the same price or less than the MW3 DLC at the same time, being Portal 2 and Alan Wake. Both of which are highly rated by critics and gamers alike.

3) Mention paying for map packs for FPS games and most PC gamers think that it's something you should get for free.

4) Mention any COD game after COD4 and most PC gamers cry it's console rubbish.

Since Steam sells only PC and MAC games, it's surprising that PC gamers were buying more map packs for MW3 than anything else.

Which is why I asked who's buying it, if you all think all COD games after COD4 are rubbish and only fit for console gamers.

CoD2 was the last competitive COD.
Great for playing matches.

CoDUO was still the best one though!!

CoD4 was so much bigger and better than CoD2 for being competitive. Don't sprout rubbish.

They're actually still active somewhat in the esports community.

While CoD 2 and 4 were both great games to play competitively. Everything after the United Offensive expansion pack was a console port. Competitive play saved 2 and 4 in my eyes, as for just messing about and having fun, neither were very good compared to UO.

I played CoD for a bit, got max prestige and then quit. I'm always bored of the game before DLC hits.

People played CoD4 competitively but game design meant that a noob could easily rack up a lot of kills in a match. When I say CoD, CoD UO and CoD 2 were more competitive what I should have said and what I meant was they they take a lot more skill and practise. Taking a bolt action rifle and picking the other team off from the other side of the map in an S&D match was second to none :)

Not another CoD thread...

The reason CoD sells is because of the Iraq/Afghanistan war(s). Ever since Nato forces went over to the middle east, war has become 'cool'. Its become a cool thing for kids to play as soldiers on their tv screens. Its morally wrong when you think about it, but look at 9/11. Not long after it happened Hollywood went and released a movie about it called World Trade Centre. People (not so much the elder generation) find enjoyment/interest in being entertained with stories through movies and games of tragic events.

The only game my 14 year old nephew plays is CoD, he loves it, so do all his mates at school, its like mobile phones, its a status thing to have the latest CoD game. So this DLC is the same, everyone wants it.

What's that got to do with PC gamers making MW3 DLC a top seller through a PC and MAC exclusive platform?

My original point in the first post, if you bothered to read it, was the disparity between PC gamers seeming hate for COD and the fact that DLC for the PC version of the latest COD game selling very well.

All gone downhill since they completely forgot about the 1000's of clans who played it, mohaa/cod1/cod2/cod4 - glory days of clan gaming!

Yup its a blast to play but any competitive aspect to it has long gone theres no real community to it.

You can still play it using skill even with the rampant cheating I've maintained a 2:1 kdr ( was 4:1 in COD4).

why would people want to spend 11 buckaroo on just 3 maps?

2 spec ops maps a swell?? there just interactive cut scenes. 5 mins new experience each.
