S23A700D 3d glasses question

Hi there, I'm unsure whether this monitor comes with rechargeable 3d glasses. Also do I need anything other than the monitor package? Do I need to buy anything extra to use the 3d?

The monitor does come with glasses which use those flat circular CR2025 batteries, so not rechargeable but cheap as chips to buy spare batteries. For using the 3D in cut down resolution, you want at least an AMD 5850 graphics card or nvidia equivalent, but for full frame 3D, a minimum 6xxx series AMD card or nvidia equivalent. There's some software called Tridef which comes with the monitor for using 3D, as well as the monitor's built in 2D to 3D mode and other 3D modes.

With the Nvidia cards you can't use full 3D with Tridef.

I've just managed to get the Nvidia 3D Vision hack to work with the other GTX680 I had in my room, makes the PC a little unresponsive, but works okay.

Ah right.

So with the vision hack, you still don't get full 3D?

That's a beast of a card, what, £400+? And you have two of them? Nice! 3D should look and work amazing with one of those

You misunderstood.
With the 3D Vision hack I can use Nvidia's 3D Vision, but the PC because a hell of a lot more unstable due to the hack, but the 3D works.
I had a single GTX680 and then another GTX680 (Not mine, but it's in my possession).
When I first couldn't get Nvidia 3D Vision to work with the hack I got rid of one of my 680's for a 7970 and was using Tridef in full 3D, but I figured I'd give the Nvidia 3D Vision hack a bash, used a different EDID and it worked =/.

How's the screen for you now, did that dodgy pixel disappear?

CR2025 is just one type of battery so all CR2025's will work. The monitor comes with a CR2025 for the glasses anyway. Tucked inside a blue screen cloth in a plastic protective wrapper.

I honestly can't tell the pixel half the time so I just left it.
The monitor is still amazing, best monitor I've ever owned by far.

Yeah it's great. I actually like the gloss finish, gives it a premium look. The only thing is I have to turn the TV off behind me when I'm watching a movie as it reflects back into the right side of the monitor. I love how thin it is too.
