Which Card to buy....stuck

I've been looking at those card to upgrade my GTX 460 to and I don't think there's anything in that price range that's worth the performance increase yet. Just my opinion though but your card is faster than mine.

Thats my worry too. Are any of them a worthwhile upgrade from my 470. Although I have a Gelid Icy cooler on my 470 I have been running it at stock since I got it except for one day when I benched it on Heaven. I know the 7850 is reported as a great clocker but I dont know how the other two clock, maybe I should stick with the 470 as I will be staying at 1080p although I am using 3D and it will maybe start to struggle a bit.:)

+1 for the 7850, always option of CrossfireX in the future!
7850 blows 560TI easily, even the 2GB versions or "448" editions
the 6950 is a good card, however the 7850 pulls equal and when OC'd performs better :)

If 3D is your thing, NVIDIA are the best at this, so stick NVIDIA.

This because it is under your £185 budget. Personally though, I would save a little more cash and look at the 580's for around £230

Only if you have their overpriced gear :p

So the reason for upgrading is due to it struggling when running games in 3d?

Well I have noticed a bit of stuttering when playing Skyrim in 3D though to be fair to my 470 I am still running it at stock. Also got the upgrade itch and when I saw the 6950 price, got me thinking.:D

I'm not up to date on 3d, but is your monitor / software suited better for AMD or Nvidia, or does the brand not matter?

I see you haven't overclocked your 470, why? After all, you have an absolutely excellent cooler on it. :)

Cleeecooo, to be honest, I feel the Nvidia cards are overpriced in comparison to the 7850 and £185 is my max as I am off on hols in 2 weeks and have no spare cash and ssshhh the wife has ears like a bat and doesn't know what I'm up to.......looks around nervously.

Yes of course you are correct re the overclocking, up until now I didn't think it was necessary and I know the 470 will do 875 or more on the core. Think maybe I'll OC the 470 and see how that goes over the weekend and then decide as those cards I'm contemplating are all TWO so I have some time. Not sure about the 3D re Nvidia\Amd but using the Tridef software with the 470 seems ok playing Fallout NV and as I said a bit of stuttering on Skyrim but mostly ok.:)

I'd honestly pay the extra £15 as the CS from both MSI and Gigabyte is superb.

Good idea. See how it runs when pushed, it would be a waste not to imo. Then, if that doesn't do a satisfactory job and bearing in mind your budget, I would consider the 7850.
