Hi, Im looking to get a new monitor and i really do like these samsung monitors, the only problem is that the 750D's connections are only Display port and Hdmi, I doubled checked my Gpu (Msi gtx 580) and it doesnt have a display port, is there anyway around this???,

I would go for the Samsung 950D, price doesnt come first, quality does... the only problem i had with the 950D was when i saw it in my local PC world, as you know the stand is very unique being only on one side, it might have just been my imagination but im sure it was slanting down towards the side with no support under it, anybody have any experience with this or maybe someone owns a 950D and can tell me its all in my head

You can get a DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter, but it's not always plain sailing. Many people experience problems when using one at 120hz, while for others they work fine.

The 950d is known to have a slight slant and wobble. Not all are affected, but the QC isn't great.

Why not go for the Asus VG278? It's more suited for an nVidia card anyway.

Yea i was going to get that asus but i cant find on overclockers anywhere(i thnik they took it off), so i started looking at the samsungs because there so nice to look at, and the Asus selling point was the 3D vision 2 but i wasnt too sure i would use it as much, i really dont wanna go smaller than 27", i have a 24" now and if im upgrading i wanna get bigger and better. cheers for you reply tho

hmm after reading someones elses problems with the asus backlight bleed problem which is still as apparent as ever, i am yet again steering away from this monitor.. can you recommend ANY monitors 27" or upwards, high spec please.. 3d preferd.. 1080p min resolutoin... thanks so much

The sammy 750d is realy nice and very pleased with mine but i see your problem with displayport so it looks like the 950d is your best bet unless your thinking about changing gpu to a 7950/70 or gtx670/680

i wish on a 680 but aint gonna happen without the missus breaking my legs.. so thats not really an option, the ONLY thing that puts me off the 950D is the slanting screen.. otherwise this would be a closed case,

grrr its frustrating!!

You can get a DisplayPort (graphics card) to dual link DVI (monitor) adapter for £75.

I've not seen that these work the other way around.

Have you looked at the S24700D? It is the same screen as the 750, the only difference is the stand/style etc & it does support DVI dual link.
*S23A700D

For the rest I fully support what you said. It's cheaper, it's the same panel, it has dual-link DVI. Yes it has a more conventional design but you're looking at what's on the screen, not the screen itself.
Sounds like it's exactly what the OP wants.

Sorry, I ment to go to PCworld just to look at the one they have on display, obviously i would rather buy here.. also i dont believe they do the S23A700D as a 27" monitor, wouldnt that just be 750D,

Hmmm Choices Choices

Edit* sorry they do have a 27" verison

They don't have a S27A700D, you must be looking at another model.

Ah yes, I figured FallshrimAEger simply typed a 4 instead of a 3 and the content of your first post only mentions the last part of the product number (the 's27a' bit is only in the title) so I overlooked it.

Perhaps the cheapest option would be to put your videocard up for sale/trade to get a similar AMD card (also 2nd hand), those always have a displayport since uhm at the least the 5xxx series I think.
