Hi all, I'm on the lookout for some new earphones and I would like to keep it below £50 if possible. It's for the daily commute to work and it must have the same remote controls as I like to fiddle about with my tracks without having to take my handset out. My Apple ones were chewed on by my rabbit so the remote only worked half of the time. Then I used the ones from my previous iPhone 4 and didn't realise they were leaking out so much sound today on my way to work. How embarrassing that would have been if I had noticed lol.

Atm, I'm looking at the Sennheiser MM 30i for 38 squids. Has anyone used these before or can anyone recommend others within this price range? There's also the Sony MDREX38IPB.CE7 for £24 but I'm not confident they will work the same way, and I've owned a few Sennheiser headsets in the past and loved their sound and comfort. I do have a CX-300 II headset in my bag which produces fantastic sounds but no remote.

Again, it has to have full iPod remote controls, be in-ear as I hate earphones coming loose out of my ear when the remote tugs on my shirt collar, and be under £50 if possible. Cheers!

I use the Sennheiser MM30i in ear headset, they have a built in smart remote & mic, they are designed for the iphone, ipod & ipad.

Nice sounding bass too.

Cheers

Don't tell anyone, but Apple's in-ear earphones are actually pretty sweet.

Twin balanced armatures, comfy, £66 which is more than reasonable, and they obviously have a decent iPhone compatible remote/mic.

I like 'em. I was surprised.

Looking at some reviews on YouTube, I think the Klipsch are the ones at the moment. I like its design and earbuds, plus the location of the remote. The remote on the Sennheiser looks weird to press.

The only thing that puts me off are comments regarding its build quality.

Use the Klipsch S4i myself and am more than happy with them. No issues with build quality for me, certainly lasted a lot longer than the numerous senn's I have gone through.

Great sounding bass for the money too.

I'd echo this.

Colour me surprised when I tested a mate's pair for a couple of days. Actually sounded really good and are pretty comfortable, which is pretty much polar opposite to the buds the iPhone is supplied with in my personal experience.

Definitely worth consideration OP, if you've not already purchased.

+1 for apple in ear headphones. I'm using them on the way home right now, they are surprisingly good!

They isolate sound very well, don't leak much sound and are very well made (the cable could be more robust and the remote is awkward at times).

Those Nocs 200 look nice. I have also considered Apple's own in-ear ones too but they are a bit out of my budget. I'm not much of an audiophile as it's just for the daily commute, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference in sound quality between them all, whether it's the Nocs, Apple, Sennheiser or Klipsch.

However, I am interested to know where the remote/mic is located on the Nocs though, and I assume the Apple one is the same as on the standard earphones. Remotes tugging on my shirt are really annoying!

I've got some klipsch S4i really good
I bought the remote version of those and hated them. I had the non-mic version before and they had so much more bass.
I had to return the ones with the microphone and bought the normal ones again.

I've had Klipsh ones before. I personally find them to have good sound but bad design. I've had to swap mine out 3 times before I just paid more money and got some cans.

Main problem is because I used the cable to put over the back of my ear, so that it's less dangly etc, I found the rubber bit on the headphones where the cable was coming out started to give. Within the year I had the rubber practically wear away at which point it was then the cable that started being tugged on more when I needed to put the headphones in or take them out. Had the same issue with some Shure ones too the 200 series :(
