Was going to go for a TP Link WN822N 300Mbps USB adapter but noticed the AV200's get pretty good reviews.

Just wondered if anyone had tried them and what their experiences with the kit were?. I notice the shop here is out of stock but there are a couple of places nearby me with them in stock.

Ta. :)

They seem ok and I'm getting better transfer rates than I did with my comtrend rubbish things. They can be had for £34 at the usual online rain place, got mine there as they were outta in the shop.

I ordered a pair last night after spending all day reading about them. Will arrive tomorrow and I'll make sure to post some feedback! I think my house is a Victorian era one so I won't know how it performs on my electrical wiring until I try it really! If it works out well, I'm going to buy another pair to connect 2 other desktop PCs in the house.

Cool, cheers folks. As I said, was just going to grab an 822N high gain but these little powerline units look like incredible value for money.

What speed broadband do you have?

I'm on the old style O2 20Mb unlimited package. I get @18Mb hard wired to the Wireless Box V. The wife's desktop has a TP Link 722 plugged into it and she gets @12-14Mb download speeds on the likes of Speedtest.net

Once Solwise have got stock you can get the 500MB ones for around £44 a pair, I'd just spend the extra tenner for the better speeds imo

The 200mb ones were fine. Shame this wasn't posted about a week earlier since i sold mine last week for £25 on a different forum. Had to upgrade to the 500av to get the full 100MB from virgin :)

im thinking of these as well. i am on o2 with the v5 box. i'm interested how you have them setup! I'm also in a large BIG old house. Pre Edwardian. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms!! i have my old router dgn2000 as an access point now but it isn't strong enough.. contemplating buying another access point and / or powerline TP Link av200 or av 500...

Got mine this morning and have tried all different setups to get the best speeds for my 80/20 line. I could only get as much as 50Mbps unfortunately and that was in the same room. Tried both having the Powerline connecting the modem to hub, and then RJ45 to my desktop PC, and having RJ45 from the modem to the hub and then Powerline to my PC.

With a direct RJ45 connection between the modem, hub and PC, I get the full 80Mbps. With each extension plug I connect it to, it goes down by 5Mbps. And then going upstairs, another 10Mbps. As a result, I was only able to get at most 30Mbps upstairs.

Looks like I'll be installing that cable then! Still, these Powerline adapters are great for the other 2 bedrooms upstairs all the way at the back. It will be better than WiFi still. I wonder how long that cable will last before my rabbit chews it up lol.

I'm sure it's to do with my house and wiring though. It's a shame!

I have these and one wireless one. Great speeds. I use them to get Internet to other rooms not transfer files and there is no loss of speed

if you want full speed from your 100mb cable then get a 500 set. I also find phone chargers and energy saving lamps destroy my powerline speeds

Ah, I see. Thanks. I'm still undecided as to whether to go for either the AV200 kit, the AV500 kit which a few places and one well known high street store is doing for £59 or the TP Link WN822N high gain adapter. I don't have any issues on my home wireless network with dropped or unreliable connection, it appears to be very stable so I'm wondering if the simple solution would just be to plump for the 822N USB adapter?. Decisions, decisions!!!.

In my honest opinion i would buy either the 200 or 500av units. These are by far my reliable than wireless and i would never use wireless unless i have no other option
