Cheap old fashioned gamer build - under £300

Well about PSU`s in my own experience I`ve found thats not always the case, you see my old AMD (8 years) Was made out of cheapest components possible, its PSU doesnt even have writing on it, the motherboard is unknown make, the ram has no identification and the CPU cooler is a radiator to which a tiny fan has been glued onto. The only known make is the processor which is AMD, for 8 years it had 0 hardware faults, by hours the components should have burned like 10 times but no problems what so ever. Same thing with my more newer Q6600 no hardware problems at all even though components are junk and now its happily tickling at 3.2ghz with no issues. But with my new PC in which everything is branded in past 4 months 1 stick of RAM burned, it went into loop of death and other minor glitches... So you never know :/

On other hand you get great costumer service and much easier RMA of components to well known names rather than unknown shed company.

Beejjacobs thanks a lot for that link.

I have to agree with the "never skimp on the PSU quality"" crowd, its a few more £££ for piece of mind.

In fact those two are cheaper than the OCUK PSU listed in post#2

I'm kind also looking for a cheap build right now to at least do some photoshop and other stuff. Would love to buy something second hand. Anyone selling anything ? Really need to check out some second hand stuff in our location :)
