so the Endura guys in the shop went well, Eric Rowell set a new shop record on our Tacx VR trainer on the Gulperberg climb of 1.32 which is 17 seconds faster than the previous best record.....

we got some freebie skull caps and signed endura jersey,

they then went on to win round 1 of the Halfords Tour Series at Kircaldy and are sitting 1st in the team rankings, our Pedal Power Endura Forme team didnt fair so well with 4 DNF....

Fancied some new shoes, ordered last night and already shipped. After being on Shimano for a while I'm giving Giro a try :)

They're not that bad really, you soon get used to them and you unclip without even thinking about it.
Most people do fall over a couple of times when they first get them tho, but it happens when you try to stop and cant put your feet down, so you're not moving when you fall. It's embarrasing if there's people around to see, but you probably wont hurt yourself.

Nice shoes!

Im really scared to try the shoes, i think id have a big problem with them if i need to get out quickly

SPD's? I thought the same but after a while its 2nd nature. All you do is push your heel out and it unclips; you can set the sensitivity as well.

Havent fallen over yet...touch wood!.

Couldn't justify the extra expense of the Giro Factors over the Trans, but the Trans are soooo light I don't care. Local store only had 46.5 in the Trans which was too small, but a different Giro in a 47 fit great so I'm hoping these should be okay.

Can't wait to get them, hope it's fast shipping

i'm up to doing 47 miles again which i'm happy with. doing the liverpool-chester-liverpool in july so am all set for that

what do you guys do during autumn and winter? do you have a winter bike? i want to keep riding through this year so am looking to pick up a winter bike and was going to look for a bargain but dont know about mudguards? am i restricted to needing a frame with lugs on for guards or are crud roadracers fine?

thanks, do get some great advice on here

I've just fitted Crud Roadracers to my cheap road bike and ride it all year round - when I can afford a nicer bike then the current ride will stay as my commuter/winter bike and I'll have something nicer for the weekend.

I tried them both and I felt the trans offered 90% of what the factor did for a more affordable price.

The new trans doesn't have the different foot beds but you can order them and it makes it a better fit.

I've not felt a better fitting shoe yet compared to the Giro. :(

I have Lake Cx170 and have tried most of Shimano shoes on.

First day back on the bike in a while and I got diverted up sydes brae,a climb I hate, before I was warmed up. Ended up getting off and walking as I felt sick :| got ****ged at work for it anyway.

I've had my Shimano R099 for 5 years, so a change will be good :D

I'm hoping they come with the different insoles, I'll have to wait and see.

Has anyone bought the Bolle Contour glasses before? Mine have arrived with ESP lenses but they appear different colours.

One is blue one is brown, any ideas?

Seems odd
I had a pair, but they were the clear lenses. (2 equally clear lenses FWIW)

As far as I can remember what the rep told me the old Trans did but the new one doesn't.

Either way it's still a **** hot shoe and it says EC70 on the sole for the bling init.

Yeah it's strange.. My mrs who never pays any attention to anything remotely related to cycling spotted it straight away.

The store I bought it from has offered an exchange so hopefully will be resolved.

Cheers,

Weirdly one of the ratchets on my Northwaves gave up the ghost on the way to work so I popped into Sigma on the way home.

Tried the Spesh BG S-Works (BG Expert was out of stock), Northwave Typhoon, Sidi Five, Mavic Pro Road and eventually walked out with a pair of Giro Factor which were in the sale. Lovely.

£60 off in the sale and then 10% club discount on top. It would have been rude not to.

Of course, now I know how well they fit, it means the Rapha Grand Tour shoes will also fit as it's the same shoe.........

I think you post on the Bike Radar forums. Are you the mechanic? ;)

The question is, are you serious enough about your image as a bike tart to spend £300 on a pair of shoes? I suspect that even you may struggle to justify such a purchase ;)

I'm not sure how many of you guys subscribe to the PlanetX/On One newsletter, but they've just sent through a discount code for 40% off of Selle Italia saddles. The code is UKSELLE40. I know not everybody gets on with Selle Italia saddles, but figured some of you may be interested.
