Spec me a blue LED version of the SideWinder x4

Hi,

I'm after a new keyboard and the Microsoft SideWinder X4 fits the bill except the LED is red. I've have a look on the OcUK webby and I can't find a blue LED lit keyboard which meets the full specification at a resonable price(under £50). The nearest is the Roccat Arvo Compact Gaming Keyboard but it's compact.

Basically do any of you know of a simular product to the SideWinder with blue LEDs on the market?

It's pretty straightforward to change out the LEDs in the X4:

True...

Are all 1.8mm LEDs the same. I found these will they suffice?

Brand New Blue 1.8 mm LED's x 20
Very bright 2100 mcd approx

These are very bright LED,s and operating voltage is 3.5 volts 1k Ohm resistors are included for use up to 16volts.
The ideal way of connecting these LED's/resistors is by simple soldering but can be put together by twisting wires together if unable to solder.

I think 1.8mm LEDs are physically pretty much the same so will fit. The only difference is usually electronic and the varying forward voltage the LEDs need. You shouldn't need to worry too much about this for this particular mod.

20kB is the maximum and I get yours to be 20.47kB.

You may use a signature (commonly used in email messages) in your posts. You can specify in your profile a signature to use at the bottom of your posts. When you post, there is an option to use your signature. A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 20k. Images containing mostly very large words or animated .gifs will not be permitted. You may also add 1 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text directly above or underneath the image with no spaces inbetween image and text. If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you.
