As per title.

Neighbour up the road who I know very well wants to sell his wifes car.

It's an 05 Corsa 1.2 SXi Twin Port, 5 door (c/w cruise control, fog lamps, alloys). The Toyota dealership have offered him £2000 for it as a trade in.

Seems like a cheap motor to me. 33,000 miles on the clock. Owned from new. Has only ever been serviced by the local garage though (The garage is very good!)

Need to decide rather quickly. As he needs to tell the garage in the new few minutes.

Because it's cheap. My 306 is knackered (Rear beam gone, c/w shocks and mount on the back. Tax runs out the end of this month).. and for some reason mum thinks she wants to drive it around (the corsa) and eventually buy it off me. All very weird I know!

My gf had one. Never again they have loads of problems from new. She had it in a garage 6 times in one yr, hers was a 1.4 sxi I think 2004 with 40k miles. But that's the risk you take with vauxhall..

If its in good condition then it should be cheap motoring for you and your mum. Wouldn't be my choice but isn't a bad option as you wouldn't lose much should you get rid in 6 months or whatever.

Its cheap and they arent as bad as what people are making out here, you could make a few quid on it eventually, or better still not lose on it.

Granted its not interesting, exciting or whatever, but as a set of wheels to get you from a to b, for 2k for a 2005 car it isnt bad, yes you can get a 7 series beemer with lot of gadgets for a grand, but you'd never sell that on, im fairly confident, you could drive this for 6 months and sell it for more than you have paid.

So the only thing going for it is that 'its cheap'.

In isolation, 'its cheap' is not a good enough reason to buy a car. I mean a holiday in a Travelodge outside Bromsgrove is cheap but I doubt you'd buy it ;)

Buy it tbh at that price given its mileage and history it should be fine, assuming the bodywork is all good etc and it doesn’t look like a shed.

I had 2005 a Corsa C and they weren't that bad albeit it was a 1.8sri, the Sxi has the same seats/ interior pretty much iirc. In fact I preferred it in comfort and driving position etc to my Clio 172 and people love those.

Ignore the Corsa haters on here, they really aren’t that bad.
