just got my coolant through the door and its a bit of a naff shade of blue (not what I expected) can i add die to a premixed solution ? or will a spot of food coloring do the trick (dont suppose this is recommended, what harm will it do ?)

thanks in advance (8) :)

Mayhems dye?

You can mix mayhems products, so you can add a few drops of dye from mayhems to change the shade of the dye you have.

As for food colouring, if it was viable, then mayhems wouldn't be in business :p

Have used both (admittedly not his newer stuff), the mayhems dropper was rubbish, my ek stuff has been brilliant, no clogging, no staining. Have you even tried the ek fluids?

i fixed it because, if you look at the area on the shop dedicated to watercooling fluids, what EK have to offer compared to the mayhems selection, well, it's paltry at best.

lol and contains less glycol that is should do hence why its so dammed cheap to make.

Min Glycol content for a WC system is 10% there contains 2.5% to 5%. Hence why it is so cheap. Old saying you get what you pay for. All so To add to that we do not use Glycols in our mixes so pay more for our base products and if we were to do glycols we wouldn't skimp on making the liquids :).

And if you dont believe me get a refractometer and find out for yourself :).

Regardless of the glycol content (not that i have ever seen any hard rule about the content needed in a wc loop) i have had no issues, temps are good. Your dropper colours on the other hand were pretty poor in my experience and a waste of money.

I've used both EK and mayhems pastel, X1 and droppers along with phobya fluids.

EK: Very nice colours, can't really complain, blue wasn't quite as deep as I'd have liked it though. Looks very nice under UV

Phobya: Smelled horrid. Red fluid looked ok, but when you had UV it looked cloudy and disgusting!

Mayhems X1: No complaints about the blue, nice and deep and looks good under UV

Mayhems pastel: Looks like pastel should, not really any complaints, shame about no UV :(

Mayhems dropper bottles: Looks excellent! Love how you can mix and match. Green, Blue and clear/UV blue look amazing! Reacts very very well to UV too.

In conclusion, Mayhems dripper and EK are close, but IMO, the mayhems is slightly better due to customizability, concentration and how long it lasts!
