Rush

A mate of mine announced last night that he has bought 4 tickets for 4 concerts with the most expensive being £204 for Sheffield
He's been a VIP member for many years and with next year being his 50th he's decided to shell out.
He also has to add on travelling and hotel expenses.

I only found out last night his car number plate is R30 AGN and he's hoping next years tour is not going to be R40.

System of A Down. I was a fish out of water at first but thoroughly enjoyed it, seeing them at Reading the second time was even better.

I was there (plus all the other tours before that).
I've seen some cracking concerts at Bingley Hall including Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Pink Floyd (boring), Rolling Stones, The Who (twice once with Keith Moon), Boston, Styx, Genesis and so on.

Nice lineup Dimple! (would love to have seen Keith Moon thumping the tubs!) Only time I went to Bingley Hall was for Rush.

In those days The Birmingham Odeon was still a going concern so I saw a lot of bands there (much closer to home for me than Stafford), much better sound/acoustics than the other localish venue, The NEC (Crapped out reverberating Cattle shed that it is!). Also used to regularly see bands in Gloucester, Bristol, Newport and occasionally London, haha! great days they were headbanging my way around the country!

Elkie Brooks at the then Hammersmith Odeon. I HATED it (I didn't want to go, but was asked to be a Chaperone):mad::mad:

They are on tour next year

Not really a fan of their music post Moving Pictures tbh, admittedly I've not heard some of the later albums, Signals had its moments but Grace Under Pressure, Hold your Fire, Power Windows, Presto, Roll The Bones, Counterparts etc just didn't really work for me. (pretty much have given up on them since).

Megadeth @ Wolverhampton Civic hall 14th March 1995 (date found on web, not memory :D) and the coach trip down from Stoke was the time I'd heard Machine Heads "burn my eyes" album too!

The crazy thing is that the support act was Corrosion of Conformity and I've "accidentally" ended up seeing them Live more than any other band, even though I'm not a huge fan, as they're always supporting all my other favourite bands!

Dire Straits. Live in '85. Wembley Arena.

Incredibly jealous!

Which tours did you see Sabbath and Rainbow on? Very jealous indeed! I'm seeing Sabbath at download this year - figured it would be the last chance I'll get.

My very first was the Monsters of Rock festival at Donnington in 1988 - 107,000 people there and we saw Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Helloween, David Lee Roth, Kiss and Iron Maiden headlining.

Was absolutely awesome.....gave me the live music bug and have been to hundreds of gigs/festivals since :D

Greenday headline act at Cardiff castle, all day thing though, Iggy pop, A, [spounge]and a few others as well played. 2002ish iirc.

Faith No More/Guns N Roses 91 at Maine Road in Manchester.

I also saw Them Crooked Vultures in 09 and I also was at the front with what I suspected at the time... broken ribs :D
