Hello there,

I thought I ask here as I'm sure someone might have some knowledge about what I'm going to ask.
We all know we can't take more than 100ml of liquids per bottle and no more than 5 bottles per person on the plane. That is 500ml in total.

What about grams, because all I hear about is liquids and millilitres and not pastes and grams.

Does anyone know whether this stupid law is an international law or what? If so, where can I find a concrete info regarding this specific subject?

I want to bring something that is measured in grams and not millilitres and the jar contains 270 grams of it.

I did manage to bring it once or twice before, but on many occasions the control freaks took it off me.

I've got a flight tomorrow and this time, I'd like to be prepared with answers as I really hate those airport controls.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

It's a mustard that I can't buy anywhere in uk :P (or can I? - Develey Bavarian)

I understand the density etc, I'd like to see this on a paper.

Really, sounds like you want to be difficult because you can't get you way.

Wrong. The only difficult people are those control freaks and not me. All I want is a mustard, I don't want to kill everyone on the plane... with a mustard...

Thanks, but it's a wrong one.

This is the one I want, Red label, Develey Mittelscharfer Sanf

Obviously Airport Security are regular readers of these forums and are well aware that mustard can be used to kill many forms of life (and cure baldness).

Why don't you just post the jar instead of letting them take it off you?

Buy a cheap bag, fill it with all the mustard you like and check it in... Provided you are flying with somebody which doesn't charge you for doing so.

They are doing it to keep us all safe, yes you may not be planning bow up the plane with your mustard but there are other people out there who are.

If you want it that much why not just pay to check in a bag?

Well I suppose you could always phone up the mustard company and ask how many grams of their mustard = 100ml (1:1 is just for water) but they will probably laugh at you, because your being ridiculous.

I've always found it funny how you can't take more than 5x100ml with hand luggage, but you can store many times that in the hold luggage. If I was smuggling explosives on board, I know where I'd put them :p

Post it back to yourself, the rules are there to stop people blowing planes up

You can't blow a plane up with a little liquid. Swallowing this security theatre is how we got to this (and back scatter X-ray)

It's a farce anyway. I took 1kg of 'liquid' in hand luggage during the last big scare. All I needed to do was wave a prescription at them. They didn't even open the tub.

Another one who swallows the security theatre unquestioningly.
