Supplements / Vitamins - waste of time??

I take Floradix and glucosamine. I've noticed a positive improvement in muscular and joint pain being decreased.

My response to OP's question:

There are several vitamins and supplements you can fire in to improve the way you feel. They are not essential, and you won't die if you don't take them, but you definitely feel better on them.

Off the cuff, and I'm not going to bore the pants off everyone with explanations, recommend:

Vitamin C + Zinc in soluble tablet form
Milk Thistle
Omega Fish Oils
Tribulus Terrestris
And...A good all rounder proper mens multivitamin from GNC / H&B. You can get bog standard ones from the supermarket but you need a proper mens one.

I have a vitamin C pill in the morning. I strongly believe that it keeps me from getting colds and the like. And when I do start to get one I take 2 vitamin C a day and it seems to keep the cold at the sore throat stage for a day or 2 and then kills it off quickly. Ain't had a proper cold for a good few years now. :) Also I rarely eat fruit or veg. Not really a fan of fruit since I have sensitive teeth and well I just don't eat 5 a day so rather take supps.

If your currently actively exercising I wouldnt reccomend vitamin C just for the sake of it. If you have got the time have a read over the following couple of articles

Oral administration of vitamin C decreases muscle mitochondrial biogenesis and hampers training-induced adaptations in endurance performance

Antioxidant supplements in exercise: worse than useless?

Both should be free, link to download is in the upper right corner. This is something that I am also actively researching at present.

Lol! The human body is designed to run on fats and proteins, our digestive systems are designed to breakdown and assimilate fats and proteins. Stuffing our faces with sugar and cellulose fibre isn't ever going to makes us healthy. You and the NHS can carry on spouting this 5 a day **** all you like, truth is, neither you nor they have got much of a clue! Lol! You lose!

Lol, nice edit. I guess you read what you wrote, realised it was pure troll and adjusted to actually try to make a point. Alas, you seem to have a very, very poor way of expressing yourself, which eventually came down to 'high sugar diets are teh suxxors!?!?' so ill be using that handy ignore button from now on. Over and out :)

I consume eleven portions a day, and this I find very easy. Two fruit smoothies give me four fruit portions, e.g. banana + blueberries // cherries + raspberries, and then I eat seven live foods (vegetables) portions as part of my evening meal.

I'd hate to see your toilet.

Defeats many points of being a vegetarian if you ask me, why not spend the money on food and like, eat it?

Because I don't want to eat animals or support the most destructive industry on this planet.

The supplements are vegan compliant, I believe you can source the vitamins you need from a good varied vegetarian diet but I often find I don't always eat as well or varied as I should, especially dairy products, so I take them as a precautionary measure.

Oh I totally agree, don't get me wrong :)

But (theres always a but) if you can be arsed to pay for and put a man made synthetic pill in your mouth and swallow then you really should be arsed enough to put some real food into your body.

Support local organic buisnesses with your money instead of giving it to massive, global, supplement companies!

True, I probably should, supplements are obviously no substitute for a good diet.
