Can Disney not use Doctor Doom then? Is his character tied to the FF films?

Nah, as I explained in a previous post; although the rights aren't with Fox and Columbia (X-Men and Spider-Man respectively) indefinitely, the contract with Marvel Studios says that if they don't use the rights after X amount of time, or don't start filming by a certain date then the rights lapse and go back to Marvel. So in effect they remain with the studio until they see fit to let them go.

Which is why we're getting a Spider-Man reboot and why we've had an X-Men reboot - they've made so much money off the licences for these characters that they want to make more. Marvel Studios' name is still attached to the film, they just don't have the right to put these characters in their MCU films because they're currently being produced by Paramount.

In short: Marvel still make money from the rights, but they can't buy them back. They can only wait until the studio let the rights lapse.
 
An awesome movie really enjoyed. Had heard greats about it and really lived up to expectation, hopefully they make a second and introduce Thanos into it

Thought Thor could have played a bit of a bigger role at the end in but that is only a minor thing and I might be saying that as he is my favourite character!
 
I thought the film was average to be honest.

The action parts were well done and great fun but apart from that the dialogue was cringeworthy, the laugh moments were rare and the storyline was average at best. I enjoyed it but I felt a bit "meh" when I left the cinema especially after all the hype.

Expecting Batman to be better, though I always was expecting that.

Thor is being saved for Thor2 :)

You can also count on Avengers2 for sure!
 
Was hoping for a shot of his hand shooting a web pulling back a bit of debris about to hit someone like in the old xmen cartoon.

Marvel shot themselves in the foot splitting their characters around studios.

True. But Marvel Studios went bankrupt once in the 90s, so they needed to use other studios to get their films made.
 
nice on thor 2 release date, I liked the movie... it had a few fun moments and plenty of action I dont know how they managed to fit so much cool stuff in in and still at the same time gave everyone a purpose and plenty of lines and fun moments. They did the hulk very well its quite clear hulk is better when around top names/characters, although I loved the incredible hulk with edward norton also, mark did a great job and hulk was still bad ass hulk right till the end:)

I did not bother to wait 10 minutes of credits to see the spolier.... thought I could go on youtube or net and it would be there to see but all I see on youtube is a stupid parady of avengers !

Anyhow Avengers has been the top film, it delivered in all senses and if your a marvel/dc fan u will love it!

Speaking of DC see what some guy came up with as a counter to avengers :

Thought the film was alright, yet not great. The characters are all very well presented and thought through, yet I felt the story was a bit weak and deserved to be a two parter instead to really make it interesting.

I'd have personally liked to see Thanos as the bad guy with the film starting with 20 mins or so of his history which would have been far more true to the avengers story. Would also have been a nice starting point for a very good trilogy!

Should be awesome, I wonder who Thor will be up against, some rumours of Thanos but you would think he is being saved for the next Avengers.

I think the gauntlet is in Asgard but I'm not sure all all the gems are. The gem on Loki's staff which allows mind control is one of them I believe. However if it is one of them he shouldn't really need to put it to their chest to take over their minds and they did say his staff shares the same energy as the Tesseract. I'm assuming that is how Loki was able to open the portal from his end. So all in all I don't really know lol!
