Have the VM superhub, and in direct connected mode to my PC i get perfect speeds connection etc. hook up a couple of laptops a home server and some games console, horrific, having to restart the hub atleast once a day

Convinced this is due to it just being a bit of a cheapy router at heart (anyone confirm similar situations?)

Either way i would rather just invest in a decent home router, anyone recommend anything?

Asus RT-N56U or Asus RT-N66U and switch the superhub into modem mode. Both are awesome and rock solid routers.

Another vote for the Asus RT-N56U, yes it will work on both cable and BT FTTC connections.

Retire the homehub 3 to the cupboard and hook up the RT-N56U directly to the FTTC modem.

Less concerned about its wireless performance as the only thing on wireless is my phone, i just want a solid router that wont drop out etc. when a lot of things are going through it - 56U good for multiple games running with VOIp etc.

was in same boat few weeks back, hub was a nightmare, went for the RT-N56U.
no more problems so far )

The NAT in the 56U is very quick, amongst the quickest around iirc so suited well to gaming and lots of connection.

I have around 6 hosts on mine most of the time and they all have no issues.

Apple AirPort Extreme. Just works. Mine's been on a BT Infinity connection since October - I just plugged it in, turned it on and left it alone. Takes care of it's own firmware updates etc, and very quick.

I'm now torn apart aka choosing between this:

NETGEAR N900 WNDR 4500
ASUS RT-N66U ali N56U
LINKSYS E-3200 / E-4200 v1.1 with new price both tempting.
