Basically I have just upgraded the media/gaming PC which lives under the stairs.

In the converted loft I have some gaming PCs but one of them is not powerful enough for games like BF3 anymore.

Now I am wondering is there any way to utilise the power of the downstairs PC to a desk position in the loft upstairs?

Like a kb/m and monitor signal that goes through the mains power or something or wifi streaming?

Long shot but Cheers!

What's the PC under the stairs used for ?

My thinking is if it's just general use then could you not swap one of the PCs in the loft for it? It'd save a lot of hassle in the long run.

Dont really want to be drilling holes through two cealings otherwise it would have been a good shout! :D

What about something that sends a signal over cat5e and I just use the powerlines inbetween?

I thought about that but in reality I use the media PC far more than any of the PCs in the loft, even more than my main gaming PC. Also I have just bought a new SSD for the media PC and it would not be as good (kinda wasted) on the 775 or g41 motherboards sata ports and chipsets.

Hmm I think I remember once seeing people using their main PC to render games and stream them to their laptops.

I understand this would be rubbish over the net but maybe not so rubbish if it can be forced over LAN?

You could use a HDMI sender?

I have one that I got from maplins which I use to send the sky box to another room and it does infrared signals too. However I don't think it would manage to get through two floors as it only just goes through to the room next door. Maybe the tech will improve but at the moment it is kinda poo imo
