Scotland Yard is investigating allegations that detectives working for its anti-corruption unit have been paid thousands of pounds by a firm of private investigators.
...
On Tuesday, the Commons home affairs select committee was told by a lawyer involved in the case that invoices showed about £20,000 of potential payments to police officers in what amounted to an undetected case of "[/i]apparent corruption right at the heart of Scotland Yard[/i]". (The Cardigan)
Dear God, how long can this go on? The Met is clearly entirely unfit for purpose, it needs a root and branch clear-out.

Getting Scotland yards anti-corruption unit to investigate corruption in it's anti-corruption unit is quite funny :p.
Next it will be
Anti-corruption unit investigating corruption in anti-corruption who were investigating corruption in the anti-corruption unit.
CORRRUPCEPTION.

I notice the word alleged. Guilty by stockhausen's drumhead court though.

What's the adage about smoke and fire..?

;) :p

At least he used alleged in the thread title :D

I've only ever met one Met officer and he eventually left, didn't have much nice to say about it after a fairly long career. Anecdotal, but that's been my experience. Oh, other than the plonkers who came up to work during the Edinburgh G8 riots..

more rantings from the hypocrite. no change there then........why aren't these types of topics banished to Speakers Corner?
