Hey,

Can anyone recommend a bar/pub with a decent outside area (i.e. not on the main road!) around the Oxford Street/Tottenham Court Road area? Can be around the back streets etc rather than exactly between these two stations.

Thanks! :D

Can't think of any that have proper gardens, not too surprising since most buildings don't have gardens/backyards. But you'll find people standing outside most of them, if you go down Soho/Covent Gardens/Neal Street it is largely a pedestrian area.

Not the area being talked about.

I doubt you will get anywhere with a decent garden near Oxford street. Get down to the bar on the boat by Embankment (not sure what it's called).

Or just get some beers and take over a garden square like a lot of professionals seem to do.

If you're happy with a short walk (or a ride on the Central Line to Chancery Lane) then I'd suggest Old Bank of England (EC4A 2LT), this has a courtyard. The building is stunning and the range of ales is great (it is a Fuller's pub). Also, worth checking out the food menu too... The pies are delicious. :)

EDIT - To give you an idea, I'd say it'd be a reasonably casual 20 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road.

Covent Garden and surroundings has a few pubs with outdoor seating, what's that brewery pub called that I always forget the name of that has the big fire sticks outside :p

+1 for southbank area.

Anywhere between London Bridge and Westminster Bridge and you're pretty much on a roll.

There's one or two of Southwark street as well as the embankment.

How about Aqua? It's a stones throw from Oxford Circus, has a nice outside area and serves good drinks.
