I'm potentially going to bid on a piece of machinery on eBay (for spares), but it's down in Essex and I'm in Lancashire. I thought it would be fairly cheap to get someone to collect it and put it on a pallet, but the quotes I've got so far are around £60. Is this to be expected, or are there cheaper ways of moving something the length of the country? Speed is not that important.

Item is roughly 80cm x 80cm x 80cm, and weights around 25kg (it's a radial arm saw).

Cheers!

well it is pretty big i use parcelmonkey and for that size its quoting me £49 + vat so same price more or less.

Thats about the correct price for palletised freight on non contract rates.

Are they going to palletise it for you? As they would just come and pick it up.
