Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Been in this situation since October last year, been given 5 fix dates so far but nothings changed and I don't expect it to, they'll just leave it until the students leave and the congestion goes down, then the problem arises again in september/october and we just go round and round and round and round in circles.

damn that sucks. Won't keep hopes up too high then...

Success of sorts. My complaint to the CEOs office has gotten a network fault raised for over utilisation.

The only down side is its due to be fixed in November..

:D then add another month on top most likely.

I hope you are paying the minimum until its fixed.

My connection has improved vastly since last night.

thank you platypus for the CEO office email address

it appears there is over utilisation in my area. Virgin have given a fault reference and an expected date of fix which is 24/05/2012...

I will wait and see what happens, but, have any of you guys been in this situation and seen any improvements?

Yes end of last year. The worst part is them admitting their is a problem. That part took the best of 2 months constantly calling and posting on their forums. Upgrade work scheduled for 3 months took 4 in reality.

Its been ok since October, but now its creeping back up again. Hopefully there is some major investment planned cos if they double upto 60mbit+ round here it wont be nice.

I also suffer from an extremely jittery connection compared to most but its not the end of the world.

looks like some things going on - or one of my neighbours is downloading the internet.

my 50mg has just been doubled, i get can the full speed on the current black modem and router, but they have sent me a letter saying i need the super hub for full benefit, i've heard plenty of rumours these are rubbish so do i really need one if i can already get 100mb on current set up and what is actually rubbish about them.

Jesus. I'd be asking for a discount until it's fixed!
I've just had a call from the CEOs office, I'm paying £10/month (down from £28) until it's fixed.

My connection has improved vastly since last night.

No worries, they seem to be able to "get things done" there.

Well I don't usually as i'm wanting to show how good my connection was at a certain point in time :)

I've decided that the yellow in TBB graph is worthless as it can make you connection look poor when compared to FTTC even tho actual ping is still low over the corse of a 24hr period.
