at home, you?
had a fine come through the post saying i went through a bus lane dated almost 10 months ago, i rang them up and they said to send the letter back to them as they dont know why it was only just sent out, but i have since misplaced the letter, am i looking at getting any additional charges put on this?

Inside or outside of London? It makes a difference to which legislation applies.

Either way they should have served the PCN within 28 days of the detection date, more than 6 months would be considered wholly unreasonable.

Also do not trust them to cancel unless you have it in writing, the next letter you are likely to receive if you do nothing will be a charge certificate increasing the penalty by 50 %.

If you can't find the PCN you need to tell them and get confirmation of cancelation in writing, if they won't do this then you need to get the PCN number from them so you can appeal or maybe even a duplicate PCN.
