I just ordered the last 2 Gainward 690's...........for work

Nooooo! How can I justify keeping them for a while? haha. The sad truth is I dont even have a decent enough pc to plug them into for a play.

We had an extra HP Z800 workstation but then they employed a postdoc so...

OH life can be so cruel :D

Although when the Tesla K20 becomes available these might need a new home:eek:

Not mine to sell, tomorrow I will unbox them, sniff em...maybe a lick or 2 and then they will be doing about 250 nano seconds of molecular simulations a day. Pfff

Although maybe I can ask my manager if we can sell the Quadro 6000 and Tesla c2070 that these are replacing, joke. Althought it sucks that I am running a 5850 and £5k worth of GPU ends up on a shelf...

I was considering a triple slot card, followed by......Geez boss I didnt realise it wouldnt fit....

Actually, how long are these....maybe there is still hope?

It seems I have been drooling all day for nothing:confused:

Card1 = Order Status: In our warehouse queue
Card2 = Order Status: Printed in our warehouse

tell the boss that "if unstable, there is a chance they will produce data inconsistencies, and that you will need to stress test them in a non critical environment. Usually a period of about a week would be sufficient, but with the rumours of degrading performance over time, you feel at least 6 months would be needed to ensure stability under strenuous loads" :D

Hey!, nice one. That is starting to sound convincing, I might try it...assuming the cards arrive within the next 6 months. :p

Sooo the Gainwards were allocated to someone else but I took delivery today of 2 EVGA Signature Editions. (Sry OC but you showed them as in stock when I ordered) Strange how them showing up on Friday afternoon is perfect timing for some bank weekend testing...and yes I did start wearing the t-shirt at work to celebrate the moment. :D
