Hey guys so I listed my first item for sale a couple of weeks ago which was my pc. I had 3 pictures, a short description and the "Buy Now" was £300! The pc was on the site for 45 minutes before selling and the guy who purchased it payed me £300 cash when he came to collect it. I now have an ebay invoice for £31.90

Ummmm... wtf?!

Yup, that sounds about right.

You also paid more because it was a Buy it Now

You're lucky it wasn't a Paypal transaction. They would've got you too

Holy ****. I remember selling my PsP and other things a few years ago and it cost me about £2.50 max for each item! I'm sorry, but that is a complete rip off!

Are you suprised by the amount, or the fact they billed you at all?

No, it isn't.

The charges are fine - you chose to accept them. Without eBay would you sold it? Would you have got as much? Would it have sold so fast?

You can go to any other auction place and see if you get more money in total.

THe charge has been 10% for a long time, and then you have to pay listing fees, but those are pretty cheap really...about £1.50 for most things. Don't pay for pictures btw, just put them in your description hosted elsewhere.

On members Market the vultures in there would have haggled you down to £250 anyway.
