Has anyone had a good experience with multi car or is it all just a gimic and doesn't work out any cheaper at all? My fiancee keeps going on about it as though it will save us hundreds of pounds. I'm a little more skeptical.

We used multicar in the first year of someone passing in our household as it reduced their premium a lot. The renewal came through which was rubbish and we saved about £300 going separate even though 3 of the 4 cars are still with the admiral group. Got a quote again this year and it's still cheaper to insure those three separate with different admiral insurers than it was to go with a multicar policy.

I guess it will just be a case of see how things are when the time comes to renew. My fiancee renewed last night and we agreed to multicar, which reduced her premium by £120.

The girl at Admiral, who was very pleasant, explained that when the time comes to renew my policy (August) if we don't agree that the multicar policy is value for money then we can opt out at that point and my fiancees policy will increase by the £120. So I will just have to wait and see what happens when the time comes.

I'm with admiral multicar and it saves me over £400 a year.

We have 3 cars between us and it makes a massive difference to us.

Also a lad i work with has a multicar policy with him, his brother, mum and dad on it and it brought his fiesta ST insurance down from £1600 to £800 with having 4 cars on their policy.

I am with admiral multi car also. We have 4 cars with them and to be honest I think if I shopped around it would cost me about the same but this way I only have to worry about one renewal and I have one point of contact.

I think we pay around 3k per year for all 4 cars which is not bad considering we don't have much NBC (not been in the uk for long) and my wife is young.

I don't have a multi car policy as such just two separate policy's with the same company
they ncd match on the second car.... so I suppose its a kinda multi policy...
it works out cheaper for me this way...

Has worked out well for me this year, Admiral came in cheapest at £750~, but then phoned me and said we can knock another £100 off if you go Multicar, so when our other car runs out (VW Polo currently paying £400~) that will be included in the Multicar and cost £300~ for the year.

Cheapest I could get a single quote for either was £750 and £360 so it's saving us about £160.

just done a multi car quote with admiral

364 for the slk
additional 301 for the scenic....so 100 quid extra for multicar

I'll stay as I am for now thanks

Can be handy regarding one renewal and one company to deal with, however I've always found it cheaper to go with two independant polices (usually with Elephant + an_other).

Hmm, seems me to be mixed feelings and experiences. Like I said before I will just how things look when my renewal comes around.

I am in my first year with Admiral and in all honesty I was quite surprised at how cheap our quote was and having heard bad reports about renewals I guess only time will tell.

Anyway 3 cars including 4.2L XK8 a 2012 Mini cooper and a Rover 75 for me and the wife about £750.
