Hi chaps,

I did 3.3 miles / 5.3 km this morning in 28 mins.

Is that any good? Taking into consideration it is BOILING outside and I have a mild chest infection.

I was thinking I might run a 10k for charity :)

Going for a run is always good.

Possibly not when you have a chest infection tho :p

If you're not well, it's often better to rest and recovery properly and start training again sooner than to try and keep training through it.

It's a good way of getting a cold out your system though!

Wouldn't recommend running on a virus, mind.

It's all relevant. no one knows your fitness regime beforehand or your current fitness levels.

Is it good for a couch-potato chain-smoker? Yep
Is it good for someone who runs 2 miles, 2-3 times a week? Not so much

Have you run before?

As previously stated, any running is good running.

Yes, that is a decent pace (approx 8 mins:30 sec per mile) especially in this weather with a chest infection, Cross country or road?

I miss running :(

I had to stop for a bit due to getting a stress fracture. Tried to go back too soon and it happened again :( Not going to run again till July after stopping at the end of April (taking 2 months off) :(

Random question!
Anything that gets you active is a good thing! Or are you asking if that is a decent pace? (my wife runs faster than that :p)

And me, got tendonitis in my ankle. Have taken up cycling, but it just doesn't give me the same buzz :(

Yeah, it's good.

If you want to compare yourself to others though you should try aiming for times over standard distances like 5km, 10km, 10miles, 20miles and 21miles.

Good rule of thumb for running when not 100% with a chest infection/cold whatever...

Symptoms above the neck=run,
Symptoms below the neck=don't run. You risk making things worse.

Yeah its good.

I done, 5.5miles the other day in 45 minutes, to be fair it was roasting and some of it was on the beach.

But then I used to do 5 days running a week, not so much anymore. Need to train for a marathon :(
