Yeah! I got online in 1998/9 and although Yahoo was the most dominant search engine, there were quite a few successful engines going back then. It was all about Altavista, Infoseek, Excite, Lycos, Ask Jeeves, Go.com...

Both of those examples are initialisms and the rules on whether you can use an apostrophe to signal a plural are debatable at best, some style guides recommend you use them and some don't but I don't think there is a definitive right or wrong.

I tend to not use one but the problem comes when you are writing in one case. If you are restricted to using uppercase for example then you kind of have to use and apostrophe to show the trailing 'S' isn't part of the initialism/acronym.

Debate it all you want, it's still incorrect.
