So I saw this picture on reddit claiming to be the spec sheet for the next playstation.

hf3DZ.jpg

Featuring a 22nm variant of nVidia GK104 x2 Gpu and 10gb GDDR6. Possible output of 2160p.

Monstrous spec tbh.

Now if this were legit I'd be very pleased as it would set a pretty beastly starting point for the next gen of games in terms of looks etc..

Certainly looks like a very expensive machine.

To be fair they have to aim well ahead of current PC specs in order to impress, I really hope it's true as MS might have to up their game and the end result is games coming out which are almost on par with PCs, at least for a few months!

is there such thing as a "Quantum Leap" GPU.

I was just looking on nvidia website and there is seems to be no such thing as a 'Quantum Leap' GPU the phrase is
NVIDIA Quadro® Plex 2100 S4 visual computing system (VCS) delivers a quantum leap
or NVIDIA's quantum leap to 28nm process

Looks a bit made up to me.

11.1 audio is only in some cinema's barely (Red Tails film) I believe and 11.1 audio in the home is for people who have £250000 home cinema systems ?

It seems unlikely it'll be that highly specced though I'd expect to see something at least on par with current high end computers so it may not be too far off the mark.

FAKE
console would never need 10gb+10gb of memory....

ps3 has 256mb
xbox 360 has 512mb?

at most a console is gonna have maybe 2-4gb they never needed craploads of memory

LOL at that listing, it's a pipedream!

To build a corresponding PC would cost thousands!, who in the blazes is going to spend 1-2K on a gaming console?

Also OP, your title is misleading, it should read, What can PC's do for the next 1000 generations of Gaming consoles, Because the day will quite possibly never come that a gaming console will smash a gaming PC ;)

lol 10GB console boys will be lucky if they have 4GB reads like a wish list to me.

with memory being as cheap as it is i wouldnt be surprised if the next consoles have something like that amount. the OcUK value 8GB kit is only £30, so theres probably cheaper slower kits out there for console use

theres no way they're getting 10GB VRAM though (unless VRAM is also really cheap)

Whoever came up with that has gone way overboard.

10gb ram, backwards compatibility with all previous consoles, I don't think so somehow.

The PS3 had a "10 year" shelf life did it not?

10 year shelf life doesn't mean they can't introduce its replacment before 10 years are up, the PS2 sold alongside the PS3 for a while.

As for these specs, between the RAM (lol 20gb in total, like that'll happen) and the supposedly 22nm die for the CPU and GPU (correct me if i'm wrong but only Intel uses 22nm with their top end shiny new ivy bridge chips?) it's pretty obviously a dud/wishlist from a rabid fanboy.
