Would Arctic Silver 5 be better than stock TIM on H80?

if you are reseating it, new tim is advisable

it might not be noticeably cooler than the stock tim, but a lot better than just reseating with old tim in place

I found MX-4 gave me 1-3 degrees or so off my average load temps (H70) which is hardly enough reason to change it if it hasn't been used, but as previous posters say if you have removed the pump after application before then you should change it for sure.

Yeah I am changing it, I'm just not sure which I should change it too.

Sounds like AS5, MX4 are some good, easy to apply ones.

I will probably be getting those unless people suggest otherwise, also, I'm still wondering, are these pastes better than the stock paste on the H80s?

i would think they will be a bit better and i would recommend mx-4 over the as5.i've used both and the as5 is thicker and harder to spread then the mx-5 plus the mx-4 is non conductive so it's a win win

Which reviews, Freddie?

Hardware secrets done a massive round up earlier this year. As for the Hegrease i can't femember but it was being tested on a watercooling site. Do some googling on this aubject, i was amazed at what i learn't.

Edit

i found the review link. Here you can that in terms of performance the old gauard of thermal pastes such as the Arctic Silver 5 and mx4 are well beaten. In ase your wondering the Indigo extreme is just that extreme.......ly expensive and ia a two shot deal so if yiu mess up it's an expensive mistake.

If your looking to cool your cpu by removing the ihs and replaceing the rubbish Intel gunk stick to hegrease or pk-1.

Where do I buy the stock paste? I already stated several times I need to re-install the cooler, so I can't exactly just leave it on.

edit: literally said I am re-seating in my 1st 2nd and 3rd post.
