IRON FRONT: Liberation 1944

Sli isn't working here, on the latest Nvidia drivers :(
Only a handful of servers available when I looked and the one I joined was lagging.

The menu interface, controls, etc are the same as Arma 2 / Dayz mod, so if you've played either the controls will feel like home :)
 
There is an easy explanation for the handful of servers. There has been a couple of issues which delayed the public release of the dedi server files.

When a player crashes in multiplayer, it may happen that the server freezes until the player is dropped (after ~2 minutes).
At times the server never recovers at all.

I have been told there is an hotfix imminent for the server freezing mentioned above.

The dedi files should be available shortly too.
 
MP is broken, looks like a fix is coming soon.

Why must we always go though this bloomin shooting range lark in SP? Every bleedin' game bah.

Its not DayZ ;)
 
WAs going to buy . but after reading here and elswere about the bugs ,i think i will wait a while . Shame i was really looking forward to this :(

Weird mindset, it don’t work properly but its still worth money….:confused:

However.
If I worried too much about pc games being sold substandard, then I probably would not have bought a game in the last 20 odd years. The redeeming factor is the communities that build up around these games, they tend to help put things right, with useful input and support for the game. The devs who produced this game, are or were mod makers I believe, so they should be more aware of the pitfalls of a game that could probably, have been better releasing later.
Still, mine is on the way and I am looking forward to receiving it, if it performs poorly I will give it a few months to settle in, if after that it still performs poorly, then it will be history, as will the devs who produced it, sooner or later…
Business is harsh and real, not a game..

I've been playing this a bit and its pretty good, but I cant help feeling being pulled back to DayZ.... It plays the same, it works the same but it just not got that buttock clenching fear that DayZ seems to do so well.

I'm going to stick it out - I have had one CTD but otherwise its sort of OK, shame MP is completely buggered at the moment.

Dear Iron Front fans,

again we have some good news and some bad news.
The following beta version contains finally the dedicated server and fixes several major issues.
Unfortunately the beta cannot be used by STEAM users. In addition it contains an updated engine,
which is no longer backwards compatible.
This means in Multiplayer all beta users will be separate to 1.0, 1.01 and STEAM users.

We are fully aware that this is bad news for STEAM users and we are very sorry about it.
Unfortunately it is not without our possibilities to make this beta available to STEAM at this point.
With that said we hope to provide a full 1.02 update early next week to all owners of Iron Front.

We wanted to get this update out ASAP to enable most players a better game experience.
Please share your feedback and thoughts on forum.

HOW TO INSTALL THE PATCH
------------------------
- Download the correct beta version for your game version (DISK = DVD/Retail Version, ESP = Digitial Version).
- Backup the following files:
* .\Iron Front\ironfront.exe
* .\Iron Front\dta\bin.ifa
* .\Iron Front\dta\bin.ifa.liberation.bisign
* .\Iron Front\IF\addons\if_mpmissions.ifa
* .\Iron Front\IF\addons\if_mpmissions.ifa.liberation.bisig n
- Extract the files to your Iron Front directory.
- Please note that it is not possible to rollback to a previous version after the installation of this patch, only a full reinstall of the game is possible, if you want to keep your previous version you may want to backup the entire game installation folder before applying this patch.

Got the Steam version here so guess I won't be playing on this over the weekend, meh.... got Dayz and RO2 to keep me busy :)
Just hope its worth the wait when it does get patched.
 
I am sure it will be, the devs seem commited.

Frustrated as I cannot setup my server till Steam is updated as I cannot test it otherwise.
