Real girls post their 'fatkini' pictures in protest against society's obsession with 'beach-ready bodies' said:
Real women have posted images of themselves in their swimwear for a 'fatkini' gallery as a retaliation against society's obsession with super-slim summer bodies.
In an age where Victoria's Secret models are viewed as an ideal, 31 women sent in their images to prove otherwise.
Gabi Gregg, a writer for xojane.com, posted a request for the images, to inspire women with similar bodies as her own (a U.S. size 18 [UK size 20]) to feel good about wearing a bikini.

And by real women they actually mean obese... While confidence is great the underlying message on this site seems to be that "obese is fine", which is not a message people should be putting across. They are certainly not "normal" women in that sense!

It's not about super slim, a lot is about health, generally normal women carry a little flab but are perfectly healthy, the above do not.

On another note... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-living-normal-life-surgery-remove-moobs.html

I'm not sure if...

(Yeah, someone linked to a normal DM article, I got bored and started looking at the pictures on the side...)

O and it's hot outside.
Chunky women thinking they are thin wearing too little
Skinny women thinking they have curves wearing too little
The right size and shape women thinking they are fat and wearing too much!

It's what's called a troll article.

The Daily Mail post these in order to stir up hatred against fat people -> all their readers fall for it.

As for that article, while I agree with the point they take it too far in the opposite direction

I have a problem with the "obesity is okay" attitude as it advocates an unhealthy lifestyle - both for men and women.

I do however appreciate curves and a bit of chubby-ness on women, and understand those two do not symbolise obesity.

The intention is fair, the obsession with size 0 and the like is wrong, unhealthy, and damaging. However, it would also be unwise to suggest that the opposite of that (obesity) is healthy.

Is this 2 links to the DM? Haha, really?

Ohhh yes...!:p

It's an easy distraction :D

Especially when you are linked to an article discussing how the Daily Mail are doing some kind of feminist cause/anti sex object thing and all you get down the side are pictures of women in bikinis!:D

And glad to see the general consensus is a little bit of flab is good, I guess we're a UK forum not a US forum!

Glamour girl: The women featured in the gallery look vibrant and confident, regardless of their body-shapes or sizes

correction

Glamour girl: The women featured in the gallery look unhealthy and at risk, and we really shouldn't be promoting such an unhealthy body image.

msot daily mail readers are fat.

One thing i find is when i meet someone who is grossly over weight my initial assumption is they're usually a bit thick, not always true but it's just the first thing that i think.
