Obese women in Bikinis - should we be advocating this as normal?

Her thighs are enormous. Don't get me wrong, everyone gains weight as they get older, I've no problem with that, but there are lot of fat women around at my age (22), God knows what they'd be like later on!
Most girls at my university are thin and my girlfriend is a decent weight (size 6-8) so it's not uncommon.

Exactly. Anything perceived as outside the norm (including social norms) is derided.
She is around 22 in that picture.The same age as you. She also has a near perfect hourglass figure:
Bust: 40 in (100 cm)
Waist: 21 in (53 cm)
Hips: 35 in (89 cm)
Exactly what a woman should be - womanly. I'm sorry but to say her thighs are enormous is so far wide of the mark it's painful to read.
As for your GF being a decent weight, well that's subjective as you have given her weight in a dress size and that is meaningless on its own.

While trying to make out this size to be okay is not good, I do think their point is just that they can wear bikinis and go swimming, tanning etc too.
Why do they have to lock themselves up just because they are overweight.
No wonder overweight people just gain more weight when the general view is that they shouldn't do anything and be covered up.

It really gets to me when fatties are referred to as "curvy". Rolls of fat do not equal curves.

Personally I don't find her facial features attractive but the figure? Yeah I'd do bad, unspeakably naughty things to her. Over and over again!

I don't think even the women in the link think that their size is what society dictates is 'normal', however they are happy with their bodies and comfortable with themselves. We all now that their are plenty of woman out there who are comparably twigs who aren't happy with themselves to the point where they feel compelled to ram fingers down their throats...
