Evening guys,

I have only used an Antec Kuhler H20 920 and it's about to be returned for the 3rd time....it's driving me mad the USB keeps failing and not allowing the devie to be recognised. Anyways I have decided to take the big step into custom watercooling and no absoloubtly nothing about it, I have about £150 budget. Would this by me a decent set up? Also what should I buy? It's for cooling an i7 2600-K. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I know it's not the best case for water cooling, are those kits pretty noob friendly?? I built the rig myself, it was my first though.

Thanks

I just made mine today and its my first step into proper water cooling after having used a H50 for over a year and a H100 briefly, took my time about it but the instructions are fairly simple to follow, just screwing the reservoir/pump/mounting plate is mighty trick with such small allen bolts and an even smaller allen key.

I bought a different liquid to go into the system though, which made things even easier as I didn't need to measure anything. That kit specifically will need at the minimum 72mm clearance for the radiator/fan, the pump comes with a lot of foam pads for mounting in various places and it makes it completely silent.

What liquid did you use?? And what was the reason for using an alternative??

I decided to go for a proper water loop due to the fact my H100 needed to be returned and I jsut put the difference towards the kit. It was really easy to fit just make sure it fits by measuring up the places things need to go and get a rough visualisation of how you are going to lay it out before you start. As well as make sure you use the right bolts so you don't penetrate the radiator.

Cool, I'm gonna RMA my antec kuhler to OCUK on Saturday and buy the £150 EK complete kit with some Mayhems fluid! Super excited now :-) I will post some pics when I have it up and running....hopefully without too much stress.

Your help is always appreciated

The kit comes with a dye to make a blue fluid but you need to purchase distilled water but yeh its easier if you just buy a nice mayhem solution.

The only part I found stressful was trying to put the pump/reservoir together along with the mounting bracket, it requires some serious finger dexterity due to how small the bolts are.

I just constructed all the parts and put the connectors on, mounted them, got a rough idea of how much tubing I needed. Got a cup of hot water, dipped the end in it to allow it to slip on easier and did it that way. Filled the system and it was good to go, no leaks after 6 hours and I used the PC briefly then over night it was running (tissues etc) and nothing this morning so it's great.

Sweet, I was rather daunted by going fully custom WC but after reading all this I now know its not that scary :-) and infact I'm quite excited about it :-)
