Msi 7970 lightning or asus 670 top

I think she's just given up on whinging at me for buying parts tbh, she knows I'll buy em anyways :p

Give her free reign over Sky+, even when no soaps are on she'll have something to watch while you play games :D

Like I said, it will not be a smooth as a more powerful card, but ultra settings are not needed in an online Mp and anyone that uses it is only really playing for eye candy graphics.

So yes, a 480 will play BF3 at max settings.
 
I actually just tested at Ultra settings, no AA, high Post AA motion blur on and Ambient occlusion set to HBAO and get 60 -70 FPS with a 480, no stutter or anything, plays really smooth.

I couldn't play at all. Kept stuttering with me. Horrid.
 
Just ordered the MSI 7970 Lightning today as well, can't wait :D

Though, I've never been through so many graphic cards in such a short space of time. (GTX670 > 7950 > 7970) in the last 3 weeks!

Hoping this is a keeper :p :D
 
My god space monkey nearly had as many cards as i have had in my life
Started with
Ati saphierre 850( think thats what it was with it flashed to card above)
7950gx2 did not like this
280gtx good at time but hot and noisy
Now in a few days 7970 lightning (hope it's a gudd'en)

Its not like me to have so many changes but I've had my eye on the MSI 7970 for a while now but couldn't justify it at the higher price, but at the current price I could just stretch to it, besides I'll keep this one for at least a week, lol :eek: and maybe for the next few years! :p:D

I bet you'll be a very happy chappy coming from the 280GTX :D

Join the club, I've gone 6950 CF>7970>6950>670>7970 in the last few months.

Hopefully I'll settle one the lightning for at least 6 months :)
