Want sky TV and BB but not phone line

Is there anything i can look at for this?

I have a mobile with unlimited calls..... so don't see the point in paying £13+ a month for the once in a blue moon call to an 0800 number......

You'll need to get a phone line from someone in order for the BB to work. It's cheapest to get it from Sky along with the BB.

Sky won't setup a bb order without their own line rental, this came into place from 1st September's 2011.

You can get the Sky Box without a phone line just for your info.

more expensive though. Same goes for Virgin who won't supply their BB without a phone line (it used to be a seperate line?)

Virgin don't need a phone line if it's cable, but if it's not cable they'd need a phone line. When I say they don't need it, I mean it's not a requirement of the technology. The way the packages work though it's cheaper to get it all from the one place.

I pay something like £23.50 a month for Sky BB unlimited and the phone line.

Yeah I went with Virgin cable too (formerly NTL), as I only own a mobile and I wanted BB without paying for landline rental.

Try their postcode check to see if you're in their catchment area.

i was about to do this a few months ago for £120, i left it a few weeks to late and they upped it to £129 and you have to make at least 2 calls a month.
i dont have the house phone plugged in and i know id forget to make the calls so they'd be a £1.50 a month penalty, so for me its not worth lumping out a load of money just to save a couple of quid a month

Virgin 60mb with a loyalty discount, half price sky tv(for 2 1/2 years by ringing to cancel) Cisco phone connected to sipgate for free inbound and outgoing 0800.

Nice and cheap although I'd like to dump sky but cost of freesat boxes makes it better to stay at half price.

Am I entitled to a loyalty discount? Been with them since 2002. First 4 years under NTL, followed by 6 years with the Virgin takeover.

I wish you could get BB without a phone line. I never use my home phone yet pay £13 a month for it. I only have it for ADSL (no cable in this area). I wouldn't mind even paying less if they disabled voice but I know that won't happen as a phone line has the same inherent cost to run regardless

Cancelled SKY as well (from end of June). I will be using the Sky box as my FreeSat box for a bit until I get a FreeSat PVR.

with Sky, there best deals are the ones with all 3 packages taken. it is handy having a landline.

Says on the website (i can get 100mb BB so fibre optic not down a phone line).
Offer only available if i take the phone line for £13.90 a month. Cheaper to stay with sky.....

If i take the phone off the price goes up to what it would be with the phone (nearly double essentially!).

This is when tethering becomes favourable.....

Sky is unlimited, while Virgin isn't. I get 17MB on Sky which makes it pretty much certain I'll stay with them. £23.50 all in isn't that bad either.

o2 legacy user here 11 quid + BT 11 quid so 22 a Month so mustn't grumble

I've got Virgin BB without a phone line. And Sky charged a one off fee for installing without a phone line. Wasn't very expensive and now paying the "normal fee".
