There is a guy using a hose pipe in his garden

The water companies arent going to do anything until the water basically runs out. Setting up desalination facilities is just an extra cost to them. The government should be fining them for having to issue hose pipe bans. The Greek islands get far less rainfall than the UK and they dont have hose pipe bans.

Not doing anything, not even issusing a hosepipe ban for example?

Desalination should we end up having to go that way will cost US money in higher bills

Fining water cos? Say what! Maybe the government should fine the weather for basically not raining at normal levels over the winter.

I hear the Sahara doesnt have a hosepipe ban either, clear evidence that UK water companies are inept.

This is why this country is going to the dogs. Inconsiderate people wasting clean drinking water during a drought time./rant over (unless it was a pump and water butt combo)

Seeing that we're due for more rain by the end of the week, it makes this 'drought' more and more ridiculous.

As long as he's not taking the **** and spending an 1hr out there i think spending a few minutes is not going to make any difference.

Hi guys,

I was out on my garden watering the plants with my hose pipe and I noticed a little weird kid looking at me from behind the curtains in the house next door.

I got creeped out and went back in. Should I call the police or just ignore him?

Take a picture and call social services. :p

In the few seconds it took the OP to write his post, Ten BILLION μGallons of water was leaked from the mains, not 15 miniutes away from his property. FACT*

*not a fact

I hate it when people make this simplistic argument.

Have you considered there maybe less people there? The reason we have hose pipes bans here is because we have far more people living per square mile than any of these hot countries which don't have bans.

My genius brother-in-law filled up his 10ft circular pool yesterday using a hosepipe. Not a great idea during a hose-pipe ban but posting a pic on Facebook?! Dumb!

Long as no picture of him using the pipe....can just say he fulled it up with bucket they cant say nowt then

Should i be mean and take a picture or let him be, whats the penalty for this?

What is he doing with it? Hosepipes aren't banned, certain applications of hosepipes are banned.

The Water Resources Act 1991 explicitly prohibits a hose pipe's use only for watering gardens and washing private vehicles. Dozens of other uses of hosepipes are still allowed, from filling hot tubs to washing the patio.

Or maybe he just knows the law better than you. You are allowed to fill swimming pools....you were calling him 'dumb' you say? ;)
