I'm looking to build my first desktop for gaming/general use with a budget of £550-600.(no more) xD

I will be looking to build this rig in 2 weeks or less

I won't be needing mouse/keyboard, monitor or speakers.

Just the desktop itself and win7 OS.

Possible over clocking (when I read up more on it) and sli/crossfire (in the near future)

Thanks for the help in advance :D

This is as good as i can get you for the budget.

There are a few problems though.
  • The motherboard doesn't (really) support Xfire.
  • You can't overclock this too far with buying an aftermarket cooler.
  • Won't have enough PSU power for Xfire/SLI.

That being said, this will be great for your uses and easily upgradable when you have the funds.

Hey thanks for the quick reply,

The crossfire/sli was only really if could fit it within the budget I could always upgrade later down the line as you said when I have more cash to spend on it.:P

looks like a nice build but wouldn't the I5 2500k give me about the same performance at a cheaper price?

Agree with Doomedspeed, you are asking for quite a bit with a relatively small budget.

I had put something together slightly different from doomed using an i5-2500k instead, but then realised I hadn't included an optical drive and I was already £5 past budget.

I agree it's a small budget I only put the overclock and sli/crossfire options on if at all possible it would fit within the budget,
they're not a must lol i could always upgrade the system on a later date when i have more money to put into it :D

Sorry just saw this, the 2500K would indeed give you similar performance, but for £10 I'd suggest the newer CPU.

ah I see, Yeah I'd go with the 3570k then :P, So if I was to buy most of it today what parts would you suggest I buy?

I'm thinking the stuff that's on offer in case I do miss the deals by the time I have the rest of the money, such as.

MoBo, CPU, HDD, PSU, RAM, Case and optical drive?

I have £480 atm.
