As the OP doesn't need the PSU surely your spec (post #4) is well under the budget

I'd want the 7850 too, uses less power than the 6950 for a start. I like how idleman worked in the Xfire capable mobo (it's now out of stock). As IB and the 7850 use less power a 600-650W PSU would Xfire the 7850.

would you suggest it'd be much better to go with the Sapphire HD7850 non overclocked? is it worth the £20 over for a few FPS more than an overclocked 6850 and better than any nvidia at that price range?

The 7850 is best in its price range for sure. Based on its overclocking ability too, I'd say its worth it over the 6950.

all good except i would go for the refurb gtx570 from the refurb store on OC, and i would shove another 100W into the PSU, and add an ssd cache drive.

Also i'm not smitten with the cases you have chosen, however the choice of case is mostly down to personal preference, so that is your call.

Ive now got a 675W Thermaltake from a friend, do you think that will be enough? i hope so!

Whilst we're at it, does anyone know of much difference between the Seagate Barracuda and the WD Caviar Blue in speed/reliability?

the thermaltake has plenty of power.

AFAIK, the Caviar is more reliable (less overt complains), the caviar blue is slower (meh). Some swear by WD.

Personally, I've had no issues with Samsungs, Seagates, WDs.
