Disneyland Paris

To people who have been, I'm in Sequoia lodge - is there a character meal in the hotel and can you book it from reception??

I don't think so. Sequoia Lodge is the log cabin one right? It's a drive out from the parks, don't think it has shuttle buses, more of a camping sort of experience.

I have never actually stayed in a Disney hotel even though I worked for Disney and went 4 times. I have stayed twice at the Explorer's Hotel and twice at the Dream Castle hotel - they are known as Disney Selected Hotels, owned by other companies but both on the same lot as the Disney hotels and have the benefits such as the little Disney boutique, the shuttle buses - but without the price of the Disney hotel. Dream Castle is 4* but less than the price of the 2* Disney Santa Fe.

Ooh, which reminds me - if you do any shopping and want to buy biggish or bulky items, use the shopping service and get the stuff sent from the shop to your hotel so you don't have to lug it around all day :)

Oh remember that Paris is only an hour on the train, my kids love the day there, climbed up the stairs to the first level of the tower bless 'em.

So back on topic any recommendation on what to do there? Also I've been told to reserve tables at the restaurants did anyone fine that necessary.

You'll be amazed about how the time flies, we ran our kids ragged starting a 9am and until 9-10 at night, they never got bored. We just sectioned the park out into days and did a section in a day. Take advantage of the fast pass thing to book times for rides. Do expect a lot of queuing though it was very busy in March never mind now.

The parade is very good, 5pm every day, get there an hour in advance to get a place at the front.

Blue Lagoon is a great as its inside the pirate ride, if you like fish its good.

Yes, this one is supposed to be good, but I'm not a fish lover. If I recall correctly, you can actually see the diners when you're going round on the POTC ride.

I found it's not quite as good as the equivalent restaurant at Disneyland or Disneyworld.

The other factor that makes it quite amusing is that in America, people coming past in the boats are much more vocal, so it makes it very entertaining. Where as in Paris, everyone speaks different languages and much more reserved.

Sure, it might not be what everyone wants, but at the end of the day, you are in Disney, the idea is to be having fun!

I've stayed at the Disneyland Paris Hotel, its huge and has the advantage of being right at the entrance of the park. It also has character breakfasts in the hotel and characters just randomly roaming around, which I'm sure the kids love. I'd imagine you pay a premium for the hotel though, it wasn't me fitting the bill, so I'm not sure!

But you can get booze in the Paris one :p

People do shout bon appetit on the French one.

Not sure there is one in the ride in Disney World, I thought it was just a pirate themed taco place outside.

I guess the Epcot Mexican pavilion is the closet to a ride in a meal in the World.

I nearly got to eat in the Disneyland version, but got held up in stupid LA traffic.
