IRON FRONT: Liberation 1944

It is a buggy game but like Arma & Arma 2 at release it has a charm that makes me want to play it despite the bugs/crashes.
I have no doubt it will improve massively over the next few months, & that with the editor included we are bound to see lots of user made content that will probably be better than the included Campaigns.
For my £14.99 (retail copy) I think its a great buy.

The current 1.01a hotfix is only a beta anyway.

The next "Official" release will be 1.02 which should hit Steam tomorrow or Wednesday (Bank holiday in publishers home country today) and the devs cannot update Steam, only publisher can.

Pile of turd I have tried to enjoy this game but at its current state is nothing more than unfinished mod, to many bugs and textures keep poping and stupid crashes the game runs worse than arma 2 for some reason..... the single player is almost unplayable

I agree mate...to sell this game in this current state is in every word wrong, Saying that it will be great once its sorted

Are we playing the same game? I've only seen 1 bug and that was in a custom mission (AT gun in a tree). I have also only crashed once, and that was because I was running a custom malloc.

As with a lot of things on the internet, there's a huge amount of hyperbole about it. For me, it really isn't as bad as people make out.

I'm playing I44 until the mp in iron front gets a kick up the bum by modders, playing coop domination and its a ton of fun.

Iron front will be the better game in time though.

Bought and started playing the german campaign. Very good, but full of bugs - Missions not ending, people falling through houses, wild blips in fps performance. Its crashed at least 20 times on me so far. I was really hoping that this would be more polished than when ArmA 2 was released.

Ironically RO is doing really well and this is juddering along, which is opposite to what i thought it would be. Going to let this settle down a bit and stay on dayz.

For me it is no surprise.

Tripwire are not a huge company but sure done a good job of ramping up publicity, support and demand for the game and imo provided a solid game with continued support. They tried a lot of new stuff in the game and there were going to be issues, but the fact a year later the mother of all patches comes out. IMO I thought RO2 was great on release, beta and release so I'm again not surprised people are enjoying it even more.

Where Iron Front has had well bugger all press really, which is a shame because continued dev support costs money and without games sold i'm not sure it can happen. But also really, RO2 was kind of main stream where this isn't at all so it's always going to be small compared. Hope it improves because ww2 is where it's at.
