What are your favourite PC games that were released from 2003-2006?

Looking for recommendations that will run on this laptop, 2006 era seems to be the most it can handle.

Someone recently recommended me Prey. Having never played it before I gave it ago and thought it was really impressive and fairly different form most modern games you see today.

Thief Gold, Metal age and Deadly shadows will almost certainly run on your laptop and are great games for their time.
my laptop cant run portal at minimum settings, but can just about cope with thief deadly shadows at lowish settings (at least that was the case when i had windows XP installed)

other than that i can only echo the obvious:
- far cry
- CS:source
- Team Fortress 2
- portal
etc

Source engine requires very little, my pc from 2001 could play them,

I would be surprised if a laptop from 06 couldn't

Age of Empires 3 is a fun game, Psychonauts and Beyond Good & Evil too.

really? thought they came out way earlier than 2007. still, they are pretty gentle on the graphics card which is what the OP is really after
