There's a fair few people I'd like not to be around any more, and there are lots of things I wan't but can't afford.
So if I kill these people, and take what I want, I can expect to be treated like a human being and nurtured back into society?

If you only let one out of their cell at a time then there will be no revolt, there will be no riot. - try that in walton with its 2000 inmates. they do only allow 1 floor at a time to eat. so they limit the possible damage.
its not like jail is that nice, its that some people's lives are so bad that it doesnt seem as bad.
we do seem to be trapped in a circle here and i cant see it changing unless something major happens.
if you cut benefits crime will soar. some of these people will only ever be on min wage and that isnt living. work a 40 hour week and all it does it pay your rent (which has soared the last few years) some basic food etc.
hell, living on average wage is hard enough for many of us. i can see why many dont work as it often means lower income than signing on or only a marginal amount more.

thats a bit right mental. we are facing massive job cuts in the country. plenty of hard working people cant get jobs and have every right to benefits since they paid into the fund for many years when working.

I think he is referring to the systemic abuse of the benefits system rather than those who are genuinely in need.
With regard to the only just scraping by on NWM not being living - tough ****. I was there once, I'd hazard a guess most people on here have had a NMW job at some point and only just got by. I bet there a many more who worked for much less than NMW as it hadn't been thought up, let alone introduced by that point.
It's a good incentive to raise yourself up and try to better yourself.
If you only have the potential to earn NMW then unlucky - life isn't fair. If you're incapable of bettering yourself then I don't see why everyone else who has put the effort in and achieved this should be expected to support those who cannot be bothered.
Going back to the first point, I'd love it if a way of policing childbirth could be thought up. Poor? Uneducated? Long term unemployed for no good reason? Dependant on benefits? Unintelligent? Crack head? Wear sportswear even though you don't ever play sport? Please report to you local police station to have you testicles removed/vagina sewn shut immediately.

Agreed benefits need to be increased for those on low incomes, and reduced/changed to vouchers only for those on no incomes.
Some people just need a good beating I swear. I always hate it when I see some horrible excuse for a human being who has beaten up or assaulted someone who can't defend themselves. I can never quite understand either how "no criminal record" makes such a huge difference in these cases. I would wager that most people who get their first conviction have been complete ***** for a long time, this is just the first time they have been caught.

Did much of this happen in the 1960's? Even in my short lifetime I have noticed an increase in the more sickening crimes - such as this one, or the karen matthews case, or the arson of a house full of children.
Crime figures may be the same/on the decline, but the nature of the crimes are getting harder to stomach.
Justice has become increasingly softer for about a thousand years or so now.

As said above i was refering to the most prolific spongers of society not people that have to be on benfits because of job loss etc. Too many people find the easy way to get on in life is to fire out a few chavs and sit on the tax payers gravy train. Its about time they were stopped.
Of course it did.
20 years ago for example two kids beat a toddler to death and left him for dead on a railway line. Kids of today, eh? Oh wait - actually that was 'back in our day' (If we assume 'our day' to be when we were all under 10).
We now live in a digital age of 24/7 news. Almost nothing more serious than a minor assault goes without being reported in the media.
There isnt more of this sort of thing, its just far easier than it ever was for us to hear about it.
I'd imagine we've also got better at detecting crime. Being caught as a serial killer in 1940 was, I imagine, far harder than the same today with forensic technology etc.
It takes me 5 seconds to find out about what violent crime happened this week using Google News.
In 1955 I'd have needed to walk to a shop and buy a paper and even that would be mostly local news unless I bought a national daily which was nothing like as comprehensively stuffed full of news as the internet is.
