Total wars Rome with the realism mode kiss goodbye to 500 plus hours of your life
Should run ok, as long as the laptop as a decent cpu the game also scales extremely well.
Of the ones mentioned I have FarCry 1, but how do you get it running on x64 Win 7?
Vampire Bloodlines is a great call, I completely forgot about it because 2004 was a great year for gaming and I'd already thought of 4 games from that year!
Far Cry it should just work on Win7 x64 if you've patched it, there is also a dedicated 64bit version and 64bit content available (AMD sponsored but there are guides on how to get it working on Intel cpus).
As for Halo definitely don't bother IMO, for a 2003 game the performance is absolutely horrendous (I played it on a 2.7ghz / 1GB / 9800pro) and it is a very repetitive game with a lot of boring corridors and very limited weaponry.
IMO anyway. I wouldn't bother with any other Halo. Thanks for the good recommendations all.

If you got it from GOG.com just install and play.
