Hey

I need some new discs and pad's for the front of the 220 and seen eurocar parts are selling pagid ones for a good price. What are people's thoughts on these compared to say the OEM ones from ford.

Ford ones are costing £100 + vat for the discs and 50 for the pad's, while the padig ones with the 30% off are coming in a lot cheaper.

TOP TIP:

Brakes are currently 30% off with Euro Car Parts - type in DP30 in the promocode box at checkout, should save you decent amount!

Pagid will be fine.

It's actually quite difficult to get true OE pads without knowing the part number. Ford Dealers stock and sell Motorcraft pads, but when you dig in to the parts catalogue these are actually aftermarket and they are not identical to the factory fit items. You can order the factory parts, but they are very expensive - IIRC a shade under £100 for the front pads alone. The Motorcraft parts are about £50.

I put Mintex (made by TMD Friction - same company as Pagid and Textar)on my ST TDCi a couple of years ago and they've been fine - they felt better than OE when first fitted but it's probably just becuase they were new. I drive it hard and I've never had any problems.

I put Pagid on my GF's Fiesta and few weeks ago and they look and feel like quality items.

If you need front discs and pads check the rears too - they actually tend to wear at more or less the same rate on Mk3 Mondeo's. The fronts are dead easy to change - you'll need a Torx bit, preferably in a socket, the rears you need caliper wind back tool. One side goes clockwise and the other anticlockwise. I bought a Laser set which included 2 wind back tools for the different sides for about £40 to do them, and sold it used after I'd finished with them for more than that!

Rear are fine I think, mean reason for replacing them is because a stone got between the dics and pad and made a line right around the diss a few weeks ago, so I just want to replace them.

Think I will te the pagid ones, and get them fitted

Thanks
