Hi guys,

I'm in the middle of installing my new crucial m4 ssd and as usual i've taken it upon myself to tinker with my setup...

What i need to know is whether this is safe to do in my pc.

They touch and whilst there isn't really a great deal of pressure applied to the card they do touch.

Will i have issues with this?

Thanks in advance fellow night owls! ;)

I assume the heatsink from your gpu is touching the fan? If so, wow you have tiny case! As long as the blades can spin freely you'll be ok, othewise it'll make a load of noise and wreck your fan over time.

haha it would make a good competition
im not sure too

it looks maybe like thats a gfx card touching the ssd, bcos they look like 6pin power connectors
and i think thats a fan to the right?

all looks very strange :p

i do hope thats not the heatsink of the gfx card touching a ssd or it could get smelly

Sorry guys, I quickly took a snap in poor lighting on my iphone. I should have explained better originally!

I don't have a massive case, though I'm fond of it. Itt's an Antec 902; the big culprit is the 6950 Twin Frozr III which has an obnoxiously long shroud that carries on for a good inch after the heatsink ends.

All that's happening is the edge of my gpu's shroud is in contact with the casing of my fan. Nothing is being obstructed from operation and I've had the system running for a bit and everything seems okay - I have yet to make the gpu do some work however, so I'll be keeping an eye on any rattling/temps.

Sorry for the crappy pic, it didn't seem too bad but then again I took the picture so go figure!

so whats that below the gpu?
you tricked me with the ssd install in op! :p

take another pic! or it will bug me 4ever

I see what it is now. :)

If they touch id go about replacing the fan with a thinner one, or taking it out all together. Is there anywhere else it can be used?
