I need a new monitor and was looking at a lot of 24" monitors - Benq, Samsung etc - the usual suspects basically :)

However I've seen that for a bit extra (£160) I can get a LG 3D monitor - the LG D2342P-PN. I probably wouldn't use the 3D that much so I don't need it but just thinking it would be a nice option to have.

Does anyone have this monitor? Is it any good? It seems to be getting good reviews.

No one here seems to have any experience of this monitor which put me off - despite the good reviews it has online.

I paid a bit extra and went for the Samsung S23A700D in the end. Active 3D instead of passive which could be interesting.

120Hz gaming though :D

There's a long thread on the 27" DM2780D with long long discussion over issues of whethre LG are putting the right passive glasses in with 3D monitors (appears "3d monitor" and "3d cinema tv" use slighltly different polarization schemes so glasses designed for tv aren't working well with the monitor)

Reports seem to split 3-ways

1) its great, why is anyone complaining
2) 3d was bad with lots of ghosting until I got LG to send me the correct glasses/I bought some Zalman glasses from ebay/I found the 3d glasses at poundland work
3) horrible horrible monitor, I sent it back and bought a samsung instead

so, as they say, YMMV

Well I didn't go with it in the end. Went with the Samsung as they are generally great monitors:D
