CPU Temperatures & Corsair H100

Hi Guys & Girls

Not sure if this has been discussed on here before so sorry if it has.

I am currently running an Intel i5 (Ivy Bridge) 3570k 3.4Ghz I have the Corsair H100 cooler and I use coretemp to keep and eye on the temps.

Here's the thing when it's at at idle i get the following temps:

Core 0: 23°C
Core 1: 25°C
Core 2: 15°C
Core 3: 26°C

Now obviously these vary by a few degree's either side but I was wondering why core 2 was such a low temp compared to the other only being a few degree's different.

Would appreciate any help/advise/info that anyone can give me and I thank you in advance

Might be a faulty temperature sensor, it's impossible to get temperatures lower then your ambient temperature with a normal cooling system like yours. What is your ambient temp?

What happens when you load the cpu, does the sensor stay lower than the rest, also what software are you using.

Unfortunately I haven't got a temp sensor to measure the ambient temp.

I have loaded the CPU with Prime95 ran it for like 30 mins and they all sat around the 47°C mark. And I use CoreTemp to watch my temps.

They are really good temps... I have a EK watercooling kit and with my 2600K at stock, after 30mins of prime, max temp is 55 degrees.

I didn't think they were bad at all tbh.. & that's with the standard fans I was thinking of getting some Akasa Viper 120mm and make it push pull.. Any suggestions on fans?

There only about 56cfm and the stock ones are 46 - 92cfm depending on rpm.. Delta do a 24v fan with about 200cfm but there like a jet engine taking off..

I like the look of the gt1850 might get two of them for my H100 would you advise plugging them into the H100 controller or into a separate controller?

I'd start off with plugging them into the h100 and see how noisey they are. (million times less noisy than the stock fans at max)

Tbh if your cpu is staying at that clock/volts you can afford to run them a little slower if you put them on another controller, but maybe that's me just hating on pcs that make too much noise.

The noise isn't really an issue for me too much don't get me wrong id like to make it quieter. So have i got it wrong by looking for fans with the highest cfm? Because those gt 1850 have 57cfm and the Akasa viper's have 83cfm my theory was the more air they push the cooler it can make the rad?
