Gaming Build <£1000

I didn't know that, cheers though and I can see why since its like two identical brains, each of them hold the same thing :P

NP :)

Just re-reading an article about SSD impact on gaming, and although load times and boot times are obviously improved, there is absolutely no improvement on in-game FPS, which I didn't realise.

Why would it make a difference to the fps?!? Like you said, all it will do is make everything load pretty instantly....which is brilliant!

You loose 9gb before you even get the HDD!! Then the OS takes the rest!

Fair point :)

BTW **Rhyswh** have you set up clearfont & maximum font size on windows and also the refresh rate aset to 60hz? I still don't know why you would find everything pixilated on your screen, I have not had that issue with my Toshiba 32" (very cheap) using a 8500GT 256MB DDR2 VRAM (second hand and very cheap lol).

(just trying to help as shame you having bad exp with your tv :) )

Yeah I have. Mine is also a cheap TV and I'm running it on the onboard graphics. I have to set the refresh rate to 50Hz because the TV is only 50Hz!!!

1080i which is close enough and should be better than it is!!! I think it might be the size of the screen and how close I'm sat too it as well.

If its a cheap TV then I expect you are probably getting 720p resolution or lower, Have you checked in windows as to what resolution your TV can display? if its something like 1366x768 or 1280x720 then the picture wont look very clear regardless of what you do.

I wouldn't choose an interlaced resolution over a slightly lower one myself, have you tried turning it down slightly?

Thanks **Bezzaboy1234**, yeah that build definately looks strong. Incorporates both SSD and a very good GPU still with a reasonable price tag!! TY

Out of interest (to lazy to go and have a look at the moment as well lol), do different SSDs vary much in real world performance?

My PC says the native resolution for the TV is 1920 x 1080. Even 720p should be better than what I'm getting though!! I've tried every resolution and they all suck lol

BTW I just went through my OS files and they add up to around 20gb, which means if I add the 7gb of programs and the 9gb you loose in formatting I've lost around 32gb worth of storage somewhere!!!!!!!!! Apart from that I would definitely recommend the Crucial M4.

My advice on your TV issues Rhyswh is to check your TV setup, tune the TV correctly and make sure that you have adjusted things like clear text etc. in windows, Otherwise im not sure how its so blurry for you? what cable are you using? HDMI?

I can't change any settings on the TV, once the PC is hooked up all the settings lock!! Yeah clear text is on. Using a HDMI cable. Currently looking into 27" monitors :)
