Hey guys I got this suit and I wanted a suitable shirt/tie combo the colour of the suit is dark grey/blue and the suit is shiny too. It is a colour that isn't very common in most suit shops tbh.

i think black shirt goes well with it as can be seen in the pics
but if not please advise

just wanted to know what kind of tie I should wear? I was thinking maybe a black tie with some white in there? or a white tie with some black in there either way not so sure.

this is for a wedding btw

Big piccies!!!

Grey tie, with a discrete weave.

Alternatively, a red tie could maybe work but I'd try and get some grey in there. Blue could also work with the grey suit but not so sure about the black shirt.

Ultimately I think a grey suit and black shirt is quite casual (for a suit) and looks best open collar. Don't get a white tie.

Don't get a skinny tie.

Edit - Just saw it's a wedding. Yea, ditch the black shirt and get a white on. Or kilt.

thanks

I thought skinny ties where in fashion
all of the celebs wear em

White shirt, grey tie slightly darker than suit, possibly the very top one. Black shoes.

Consider buying an new tie if the top one isn't quite right, if coloured, something plain and quite bold.

Unless you hate money don't pay those prices. Head down to a shirt shop (or buy online) such as Charles Tyrwhitt, TM Lewin or Hawes and Curtis. You'll pay a third of the price and come out with a better quality, better fitting shirt and tie.

Also, a grey tie with a grey suit? How dull :p

What's wrong with you pink shirt/tie combination? I think it looks very appropriate for a wedding. I actually think a mauve shirt/tie combination would look even better.

I agree, I just jumped on that website for speed really.

Take your jacket if you're shopping for a tie, will be able to get something to compliment it. Though, I reckon a white shirt with the bottom tie in the first picture will be fine!
