Hi all,

Just wanted to show my appreciation for STALKER, despite owning it from ages ago and failing initially to get into it - I recently re-installed and decided to stick with it. I'm glad I did as it is a excellent game,

Just installed the Complete Mod and massively impressed with what they have done!

Love the series, probably spent close to 500 hours between the three and several mods; mainly the Complete series, LURK and Oblivion Lost. Currently, particularly looking forward to LURK 1.2 and Lost Alpha. Of course, however doubtful, I still hope Stalker 2 get properly resurrected and realised some day..

What with the popularity of the mods / community, it wouldn't surprise me if a group of modders made their own Stalker title, like streumon studios did with E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy.

Reading this made me install the game, I found it in my steam list from a sale or something and it only had 25 mins played :p

One thing that is bothering me though is that vsync seems to do nothing. I am getting 300-500fps and my cards fans are going mental all the time.

I never did get to finish this game. It is a great game once you get into it. I didn't first time and then left it for a while, then played it about a year after and it was very engrossing.

Use afterburner to limit the framerate, save power and less heat in your case.

Been meaning to go through the 3rd one with the complete mod for ages may install it now and play it over the bank holiday.

I think it takes a while to get into it, but once it clicks you are consumed. Shadow of Chernobyl is definitely in my shortlist of top 5 games. The complete mod is brilliant, when I replayed it years later I didn't have any of the "oh, I remember it looking better than this" you often get when you revisit something and it didn't totally change the gameplay either.

To anyone that didn't like it, install the complete mod, go back to and give it another go.

I took a while to get around to playing through the series but once I did I found them to be some of the most atmospheric games I've ever played on the PC.

Just installed the complete mod for call of Pripyat when running the installer i got 2 sets of options.

Install normal or advanced went with normal as not sure how it will run on a 460gtx 1 gig ?

Then i got another option about exploding bodies etc ????? whats that all about been a long time since i played this.

It's been a while since I've used the Pripyat Complete mod. I would think your 460 would handle it 'advanced' but with no AA, which is what I personally would opt for. Try it with everything set to the hilt; you can always turn down the AA and / or something else if the fps dips too much.

Re : exploding bodies...hmmm...I'm assuming that means when an npc is caught in an anomaly or emission? Can you be more specific?

Is the game anything like Fallout 3 and New Vegas? Probably a stupid question, I have no idea about the game. :p
